Lost Planet 2 is an upcoming third-person shooter video game set to be released in 2010. The game is the sequel to Lost Planet: Extreme Condition, taking place ten years after the events of the first game. It is both developed and published by Capcom.
On February 24, 2009 an exclusive trailer was released on Xbox Live Marketplace. The trailer showed the game’s producer, Jun Takeuchi, explaining the story and gameplay of Lost Planet 2.
The story takes place back on E.D.N. III 10 years after the events of the first game. The snow has melted to reveal jungles and more tropical areas that have taken the place of more frozen regions. The game will center on the the fictional corporation known as NEVEC (NEo-VEnus Construction) and their ongoing war to gain T-ENG (Thermal-ENerGy). Player(s) will assume control of a group of soldiers battling the Akrid, a race of large insects native to E.D.N. III. The Akrid have expanded their armies and return much more powerful in Lost Planet 2.
Dante’s Inferno is an upcoming third-person action adventure video game to be published by Electronic Arts and developed by Visceral Games (formerly EA Redwood Shores). The game is loosely based on the canticle of the same name from Dante Aligheri’s epic poem Divine Comedy.
Dante’s Inferno is based on the first part of Dante’s Divine Comedy. The player controls Dante, a veteran of the Crusades who must chase his beloved Beatrice and try to free her soul from Lucifer’s grasp. As his pursuit takes him deeper into the pits of Hell, he must battle ever more fierce and hideous monsters, while also facing his own sins, a dark family past, and his unforgivable war crimes.
Developer Trion World Network, most recently in the news for teaming up with Petroglyph on an MMORTS, today announced that it will be unveiling its own MMORPG “Heroes of Telara” at E3 this year.
“In Heroes of Telara players are challenged to conquer the unknown in an epic, ever-changing world,” says the company.
Trion claims the game will be “driven by recurring events, unexpected challenges and limitless new content.” None of which will involve collecting boar ears, I’m sure.
“Trion is excited to share what we have been working on and to reveal the universe of Heroes of Telara™,” said Russ Brown, vice president, Channel One, Trion. “The team is producing a magnificent new universe in which players can immerse themselves in endless adventure.”
Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2, previously known as Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2: Fusion will be the sequel to the 2006 action role-playing video game Marvel: Ultimate Alliance. The game is being developed by Vicarious Visions and will be published by Activision. The game features characters from the Marvel Comics universe and centers around the Marvel’s Civil War storyline.
Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 follows the same basic gameplay patterns as its predecessor. The game allows to players to choose four heroes from a roster at any given time to play through the game. Players will also have the ability to level up characters and earn new abilities and powers. Vicarious Visions have made changes in the game and camera controls for greater fluidity during gameplay. The Comic-Con 2008 trailer shows an improvement in the power combo system; instead of merely doing some extra damage, two combined powers will yield a new attack altogether, such as Invisible Woman creating a force field and Iron Man overloading it with energy, effectively creating a bomb, or even the classic Fastball Special maneuver.
NHL 10 will be the 19th video game in the NHL series released by EA Sports.
New features
The only information available so far comes from EA Sports’ promotional material, which states:
“NHL 10 will introduce over 200 game refinements and will bring the real emotions from fans and a real hockey atmosphere into the game.
First person fighting will be introduced in the game to make the player feel like they are in an NHL fight. An all-new board physics engine will let the players battle for pucks on the boards letting the player shield, kick the puck, pin opponents to the glass, all while the fans bang on the glass just like in real life. Player fatigue will have players bobble passes and avoid collisions under threat of constant physical pressure. Momentum will enter the game like never before. Players will be able to start scrums after the whistle to draw penalties and to bring the fans even more into the game for that extra push of momentum needed to win. New scoring techniques will be entering the game such as scoring from your knees and hitting the puck from mid air. Players will also be able to pass the puck off the boards.
