Single Player Added to Shattered HorizonT with Free “Last Stand” Update

Zero Gravity FPS is 50 Percent Off on Steam All Week.

HELSINKI, FINLAND – April 4, 2011 – Futuremark® Games Studio today released a trailer showing the new features added to Shattered HorizonT, the zero gravity first-person shooter for PC, with the game’s latest content expansion. With the Last Stand update all game modes can now be played in single player with and against bots. The update also adds the new Last Stand game mode which pits a team of four against waves of increasingly difficult bot enemies. The Last Stand game mode can be played offline with bots or in online co-op with friends. Like all Shattered Horizon content updates released to date, the Last Stand pack is free for all players.

Shattered Horizon Last Stand pack
- Play all game types in single player mode with bots.
- Choose the number of bots and set the difficulty level.
- Play the new Last Stand game mode which pits a team of four against waves of increasingly difficult bot enemies.
- Last Stand mode can be played with bot team mates in single player, or with friends in online co-op.
- Server hosts can optionally add and configure bots for multiplayer games.
- Bots will leave a multiplayer game to make room for real players, and rejoin to make up team numbers.

“Shattered Horizon’s multiplayer can be tough for new players. Not only do they have to learn the skills required for zero gravity combat, but they have to do so while going up against the game’s experienced community,” said Jaakko Haapasalo, Director of Futuremark Games Studio. “Now there’s an alternative. The Last Stand pack adds single player to all game modes making it the perfect way for new players to learn the game, practice to improve or just play for fun.”

Steam Sale, 50 Percent Off
To celebrate the release of the Last Stand pack Shattered Horizon will be on sale for just $9.99 from April 4 to April 11 on Steam.

 Xbox 360 Outsold PS3 by 88% during U.S Hoilidays.

Xbox 360 Outsold PS3 by 88% during U.S Hoilidays.

Industrygamers.com wrote: With the NPD data continuing to trickle in, we now see that 1.21 million units of the PS3 were sold during December. That’s certainly not bad but it represents an 11% decline, versus Xbox 360′s 42% jump. The last two months of the year are the two most important in the gaming business when everyone shops for the holidays. With December in the rear-view, totals can be added, and we see that PS3′s total for November-December is just 1.74 million compared to Xbox 360′s whopping 3.27 million.

That represents a difference of 88%, and it has to be somewhat disappointing for Sony. We still don’t know how many units of Move have truly been sold through to consumers – last we heard, Sony announced it had shipped over 4 million units. Worse still, the lone ‘AAA’ title for PS3 this holiday season was Gran Turismo 5, and it didn’t even make the top 10 chart.

While some analysts believe the PS3 will soon pass the Xbox 360 in installed base worldwide, these past couple months certainly don’t point towards that. On the bright side, Sony does indeed have a very stacked exclusive games lineup for 2011.

 BioShock Infinite Trailer

BioShock Infinite Trailer

The trailer teased a return to the underwater failed Utopia of Rapture, first seen in 2007′s “BioShock.” But last night, we saw “BioShock Infinite” in action, a live demo. This next big thing from Ken Levine’s Irrational Games is something different.

This is the “BioShock” of a floating city, of America in 1912, of a helpful damsel in semi-distress and of something called the Skyline.

The trailer signaled that “Infinite” is a first-person return to the style of idea-driven historical science fiction of “BioShock,” but set in the skies. Later, Levine would tell me that the game is thematically tied to the work he did in first “BioShock” in that it is another game about a strange and yet strangely familiar place as well as about expressive, variable gameplay. He doesn’t call it a prequel though and drew no narrative connections between the “BioShocks” we have played and the one his team is making. “I don’t want to think about that,” Levine said to me. “I don’t think it’s particularly constructive to have that conversation.”

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 | The video game OFFICIAL [HD] gameplay trailer

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 | The video game OFFICIAL [HD] gameplay trailer

The video game will be released at the same time as the movie hits the theatres (November 17th, 2010)

SYNOPSIS (provided by Electronic Arts)
The Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1 videogame will be released this autumn on all major gaming platforms.

With all the action taking place outside of Hogwarts for the first time, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1 represents a shift in tone for the Harry Potter games. On the run with a horde of merciless enemies on their tail, players will find themselves in unknown territory, far from the safety of the school grounds, fighting for survival at every turn.

“The final Harry Potter adventure has given us the opportunity to make a darker and more action-oriented game than we have before,” says Jonathan Bunney, VP, Head of Production at EA Bright Light. “We believe we are creating a Harry Potter game that the HD console gaming generation will appreciate and enjoy. We have built new technology specifically to allow us to prove that magic is a truly potent force and, in this game, players will need to use all their skills if they want to survive.”

“We have enjoyed a tremendous partnership with EA in collaborating on the Harry Potter videogames,” said David Heyman, Producer of the Harry Potter films series. “Over the years, the games have grown ever closer to the films in their art direction and in their spirit so it is exciting to know that the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows — Part 1 videogame will capture the action and suspense of the upcoming film.”

The Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 videogame is packed from start to finish with action and combat. Players will be on the run, fighting for survival on a desperate and dangerous quest to locate and destroy Voldemort’s Horcruxes, engaging with Death Eaters and Snatchers in epic battle sequences at every turn. To amplify the action, players will encounter ferocious creatures from the previous films in addition to the adversaries Harry faces in the seventh film. They will need to muster their most powerful magic against relentless assaults from all sides. There are no more lessons, no more training. This time the danger is real. It’s time for players to fight for their lives.

A new game engine built specifically to leverage the technology of HD consoles ensures high definition graphics and intense combat gameplay that will immerse players in the action like never before! Under development by EA Bright Light Studio, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1 and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2 are being developed for the PLAYSTATION 3, Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii, Nintendo DS, Windows PC, and mobile devices.
